It's been a very rough year as far as the weather has been concerned. Areas in Northern Minnesota received up to 50 inches of snow in April alone - and that snow continued into May. Unfortunately when the temperatures rose, so did the moisture. Large parts of Iowa were evacuated; families, businesses and their insurance companies are coming to terms with what happened and how they can move forward. A couple of years ago Appliance Analysis was invited in to take a look at a house with a flooded basement. This hadn't been an act of nature, it was internally based. The client asked us to look for any possible connection between the flood and the washing machine.
We looked at all possible causes and eventually determined that duct tape used to repair earlier damage to the machine had been the cause of the problem. The tape didn't work resulting in the pressure hose releasing from the pressure switch. (See video of the investigation http://www.applianceanalysis.com/video- library.html.)
